Autumn Drive with Tedward
On a crisp fall morning 15 members and friends departed the Garage 42 parking lot headed west for a drive led by Youtube star Tedward. Great times were had.
Heading Out West
With the exception of only a few cars, the convoy made it smoothly out onto Route 2 and headed west. Everyone played nice for a few minutes until David opened up the gates and catapulted to the front of the group. Tachometers started to climb and the faster cars started respectfully trading places, always considerate enough to slow down for those that wanted to stay close to the speed limit, and those that had no choice (I'm looking at you stinkin' Lincoln)! At a fuel stop about halfway to our first destination, everyone took the opportunity to converse and admire the variety of cars in the group. Just look at that 1970's big-body Lincoln fueling up next to a 993 Turbo.
The Quabbin Reservoir
Our first and most scenic stop of the day was the Quabbin Reservoir, a large body of water surrounded by rolling hills and stunning foliage. We quickly learned that the history of the place was even more captivating as Tedward shared the story of the towns that were intentionally flooded in order to create the reservoir and the party that the residents threw to say goodbye. We all took in the sights and enjoyed some unique plane spotting overhead.
Capping it off With a Beer
There may be no better way to cap an early-afternoon cruise than with beer, friends, and food. We parked the convoy in the lot of Stone Cow Brewery in Barre and headed in for lunch. There isn't much to be said here, with that combination, it's hard to go wrong.

After a satisfying meal of pulled pork sandwiches, slaw, and local beer we said our farwells and went our sererate ways.
