Head Detailer

Garage 42 is looking for a Head Detailer for our newly created in-house Detailing Department. We provide our clients with premium car storage and management services. During our next phase of growth, we are building a vertically integrated suite of services to best serve our clients. The Head Detailer will be an instrumental part of meeting this goal. This individual should have a passion for exotic, sports, classic, and collectible cars, and understand the nuances involved in detailing and appearance care of them, as well as understand the level of professionalism demanded of our discerning clients.

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Responsible for developing and documenting Garage 42’s detailing procedures

  • Responsible for training and supervising detailing employees

  • Responsible for maintaining Key Performance Indicators like on-time completion, customer satisfaction, etc.

  • Work closely with Operations Manager to produce weekly detailing schedules and communicating available capacity

  • Act as subject matter expert providing detailed instructions and guidance to other detailing employees

  • Support hiring of detailing employee, by writing job descriptions, interviewing, etc.

  • Conduct new employee on-boarding

  • Conduct regular employee review with detailing employees

  • Manage inventory of detailing supplies and maintenance of detailing equipment

  • Maintain a clean, professional, well-organized environment

  • Conduct inspections of client cars, documenting, and reporting defects immediately to management for review

  • Report on facilities maintenance needs to management

  • Regularly meet with Operations Manager to communicate issues, or areas of improvement

  • Provide detailing support off-site and after hours to support customers' needs

 

Required Skills & Qualifications

 

  • 5-10 years of experience detailing high-end classic, historic, and exotic cars

  • Ability to demonstrate experience with the following…

    • Paint correction

    • Applying ceramic coating

    • Polishing of chrome parts

    • Experience managing employees

  • Ability to work under pressure in a time-sensitive environment

  • Ability to drive a wide variety of vehicles, including manual transmission

  • Driver's License (Required)

 

Preferred Skills & Qualifications
  •  Experience applying Paint Protection Film (PPF)
